Thank you for taking the time to
learn more about the organizations the Department of Community Health and
Recreation is involved with. Below you will find brief
descriptions of each club, a contact name so you can get involved, and a link to their website if they have one
(blue club name indicates a link to their website).
Health Club
Dennis Kamholtz
x7098
The purpose of this organization is to provide awareness of various health
issues and concerns to the campus, community, and themselves. The ideas
promoted by the club rest on "prevention" as the key to overall well-being.
The club is annually involved in is The Great American Smokeout and sponsors
a Health Conference each spring semester.
Ski Industries Club
Leigh Breidenbach
x7385
The UMF Ski Industries Club was formed to help students defer the costs of
educational events (i.e., Referee Clinics, USSCA Coach’s School, Avalanche
Safety Courses, PSIA events, etc.), provide opportunities for students to
acquire pre-graduate work experience within the ski industry, and plan fun
events in hopes of bringing the club members, and hopefully the industry,
closer together (examples include: white water rafting, camping, socials,
ropes courses, ski and snowboard trips, etc.). Anyone interested in the ski
industry or making turns and riding the powder will be greeted with open
arms.
