Highlights

 

 

  • Molly J Bell graduated in 2007 and has had the oppurtuinity to work as a physical therapist in the Aroostook county area. She has traveled to Alaska and is now working in the Presque Isle clinic doing Physical therapy.
  • Hands-on learning experiences are readily available at the UMF Fitness and Recreation Center through internships, teaching group fitness classes, or working as a student personal trainer.
  • Health services is one of the fastest growing employment areas.
  • Farmington students have completed internships at Medical Care Development, Sisters of Charity Health Services, the American Red Cross, Occupational Medical Counseling, the UNUM Corporation, Franklin Memorial Hospital , Maine Center for Disease Control''s Comprehensive Cancer Control Program in Augusta, the Maine Cardiovascular Health Program at Medical Care Development in Augusta, the Hannaford Brothers Employee Wellness Program in Scarborough, the UMF Student Health Center, the Somerset Heart Health Program in Skowhegan, the UMF Athletic Department, the Healthy Community Coalition in Wilton, and the Maine Immunization Program (Division of Disease Control) Bureau of Health in Augusta.
  • Students in health education planning classes often develop and carry out programs pertaining to Farmington student health issues.
  • The student organization, the UMF Student Health Club provides opportunities to participate in local, state, and national conferences.
